WHAT IS GARAETTEOK?
Pronounced “gah-ree-dok”, garaetteok are soft Korean rice cakes, made from steamed rice flour that’s kneaded or pounded, rolled, and cut into 2 to 4-inch long cylinders. These rice cakes can then be used as the basis for several other dishes.
Garaeddeok (Sticky Rice Tube) is used in ddeokbokki (spicy rice cake) and ddeokguk. The spicy rice cake ddeokbokki is popular street food in South Korea
