Buldak-bokkeum-myeon became famous due to the Fire Noodle Challenge, a viral challenge where people film themselves attempting to complete a bowl of buldak-bokkeum-myeon. In November 2016, Samyang Food obtained a halal certificate for buldak-bokkeum-myeon from the Korea Muslim Federation Halal Committee.
Directions:
1) Boil 2 to 3 cups of water.
2) Put the noodles on the boiling water for 3 minutes, or until the noodles fit your taste.
3) Once the noodles are cooked, pour out the water. Leave 3-4 teaspoons of water on the pot.
4) Pour the red packet of seasoning on the still cooking noodles.
6) Once cooked, place it on a plate and sprinkle it with dried seaweed and sesame seed, which was in the other packet.
